The Kruzer Krooze
My name is Barry de Kock and I invite you to share my “Kruzer” Mountain Bike journey, “The Krooze”, with me in my part of the world, South Africa.
March 2012, the Taxman bought me a Silverback Vida Mountain Bike and since then I have been working on, and planning to do a Mountain Bike Bicycle ride from Beitbridge on the border of South Africa and Zimbabwe, to Cape Point via Sedgefield and Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. Originally my plan was to start the 1st leg from Beitbridge to Sedgefield, but, life is what’s happening while you are planning it, and from day 1 to now, most of the original planning, route and equipment have changed, been adapted, abandoned, re-planned and revised for the adventure and journey.
The Krooze, stage 1, will be the Cape Argus Cycle Tour to include Cape Point as part of the ride, then at first light on 08 March from Vishoek to Sedgefield, via the scenic and coastal route to Gordons Bay, Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Kleinmond, Hermanus, Gansbaai, Agulhas, Arniston, De Hoop, Infanta/Witsand, Stilbaai, Albertinia Districk (Gourits Farm), Hartenbos, George and Sedgefield. Distances will vary from 55km to 110km per day, depending on where friends and family live, as well as available camp sites. I will share my choice of bicycle, equipment, route, and experiences with you on this journey of discovery and adventure. It might not be on a daily basis, but, I will update as I make my way from start to finish.
That’s it for now.
